Practical Skill

Brand logo on paper:

To brand my flower flavour water, I had to draw some ideas on how I wish my logo would look like on the label of my product. I choose some drawing styles such as single line, geometric and freehand drawing. With those three styles I could experiment a bit to know which style I think it suite better for my final logo. Furthermore, I will add my favourite design to Illustrator to create a digital version. Making this quick drawing helped my imagination flow faster to the paper as I didn't have to think to much on how I was going to draw. This gave me the freedom to work fast and to draw anything that came to my mind.

Color Palette:

I created this colour palette to maintain the consistency on my brand so it can be aesthetically enjoyable and pleasing to the customers. To create this, I choose an image from google that I liked the lighting of the flowers to make my own colour palette.  Since I was getting the colour palette from the flowers I was making the drinks off, I decided to pick one colour of flower and add on the bottle corresponding to it's flower.
I got the idea of making the logo the same colour as the drink from the Innocent company. The company may match the logo with the drink to make both to collaborate together and make it appealing to the audience. Also, I think matching both will give a fresh and natural idea for the brand, that also may emphasise the use of real ingredients in the product. Overall, using consistency colour though out the brand helps to establish awareness of the brand and it will differentiate the product from competitors.

Brand logo using Illustrator:

After drawing on paper some ideas of logos that I thought it would suit my brand well, I started transferring all my ideas to Adobe Illustrator where I got to experiment with more shapes though out the process. Most of the design, I got inspired by designs I found on Pinterest where I recreated on paper to learn the shapes used and so I could change some aspects on some of the logos that I found most interesting and consequently making a new logo so I can use as my own.
The design that I experience the most was using shapes as I think it looks pleasing to the eyes and it looks unique. Also, one of the designs I used single line style where I draw a vase with a flower. This design I think it looks simple but it sends the message well to the audience as it doesn't have much information making it obvious what the logos identity is. From all those design I have drawn, I choose three that mostly catch my attention, where I experimented more with them as I wanted to be sure which one will be the final logo I will be using for my branding.
From the colors I choose to create my own palette where I took the three images that matches the flowers that the flavours of the drinks will be and choose tone of colours inside of them. From the three designs I found mostly suitable for the brand I added all colours from the palette. Doing that I could see how each color will looks on the logos and have a better idea of how the final outcome would look like. As I still wasn't sure of what colour would look better when putted on the bottles I decided to choose the final colours after I have taken thee bottles images.
As for the name of the brand 'Tussie Mussie', I have been experimenting with different typography previously. And at the end I choose to use 'Myriad Pro' as my main font. From that I change the two first letters of each of the words to give a unique look for the font being use.

Water Label:

As drink label is an important aspect of any product since they provide crucial information for the consumers. Normally labels would not only have the product identity but also, the ingredient/nutritional information, safety warnings, consumer protection and symbols telling if the packaging is sustainable/recycle. However, I only created the front label where it only shows the product identity with the logo, brand name and small description of the drink flavour. I decided to only create the product identity as that will be the only part showing in the edited bottles, besides it would take longer if I design the whole label making me lose my deadline for the project.
After creating not only designs for the logo but also choosing different types of typography that I thought it would look great on my product, I finally finished to create the whole of my label that will be added on the pictures of the bottle.
For the logo, I choose three final designs where I found more suitable for my branding however, it was hard to choose only one as a result I created a poll where I asked my class mates to pick one that they mostly liked. Making the poll did not only saved time but helped me make the decision of which of the designs I was going to use as my final logo. And the result was the vase/bottle with the flower, where most of the people that voted said that it really match the brand and the product.

Brand Identity:

I decided to create a brand identity template for the purpose to guide, so everyone understand the brand identity and the proper way to use the product. It is based on adding colour palette, logo and patterns being use in the brand. However, I will also be adding a poster that I will create and two images that I edited to make it more personal.

Creating a 3D bottle:

I experiment creating a 3D bottle in Illustrator before everything since I wanted to make sure it would have an easy process as it is something I've never done it before.
To create this 3D model, I watched some YouTube videos where it showed some easy ways to create a bottle. The videos were really helpful as it gave me some tips on how I can make lots of different shapes of bottles and thought me something I didn't know which is making 3D shapes only using Illustrator.

Sketches for the Posters:

As I finished the label design, I started drawing sketches for ideas of posters that I may create to add on the social media I am creating for this project. I had to get some inspiration on Pinterest where it was helpful as I got some great ideas that I can take to advertise the new brand. Because the brand name is Tussie Mussie, I thought it would be good to add on the posters a bit of flowers as well as green, sunny and cheerful backgrounds since it is spring and the water drink is perfect for this type of hot weather.
However, I will experiment with more ideas of photography as I want to give the right message to my target audience, because it is crucial for the brand to be well advertised so the company can catch the buyer's eyes for the new product.

Photography practice:

As I have to create posters to advertise my product, I took pictures of bottles that had some product inside imitating the color and the look of the real drink so the photos would look more realistic and professional. While doing taking the pictures, I experiment with lots of colour, texture and angles.
The powerpoint has both photoshoot attempts as I wanted to try not only studio light but also natural light since I wanted to see

Editing:

While editing my pictures, I had a problem with adding the label into the bottles as some of the bottles were wet. Therefore, I watched lots of YouTube videos and tried all the different ways possibles to see if I could solve the problem. However, nothing was working so I asked my teacher for help where it solved my problem by using the hue/saturation in Photoshop. After solving this problem the rest was easy and fun to do as I had the opportunity to use some skills to change the brightness as well as change the contrast of the image.

Creating social media:

After all was finish, I decided to create the instagram pages using Adobe XD as I thought was going to be fast and practical to make everything there. I didn't have to watch anything or ask for help to give me on what I have to do.
I added some pictures that I took just to see how it would look like when I add the final posters. This gave a good felling that the end result will be as I imagine it would be.
